SIMPLY; NOT SO SIMPLE

       This is painfully true. Simplicity, is a hard achievement in any art form. We tend to get the better of our selves and want to show off. I do anyways -"ohh, but look at what I can do."- When in reality, stating the truest thing about our thoughts, designs, ect., is what's going to blow the other guy out of the water. Restraint, is the forgotten goddess I speak of.

(This is an odd post considering I'm trying not to be so sartorial this season. Hello, color.... It's just so hard to let go. Regarding color my new thing is prints with pineapples included)

DESIGN MUSE no. 1

MOCK THE SUIT

      A little taste from last weekends design experiment.. (I'm wearing it right now.. right this very moment. In the real wold...At startbucks, that's not really the real wold- It's just a dreamland made up of vanilla latte powder [which I've never actually tried.] #wildgusechace)  But seriously... This little jersey pieces is inspired by a mock of the double breasted men's jacket* (you know of what I speak- the 50's businessman feel- there would be pinstripe if I had the material).


   I'm getting super pumped about this summer! I can't tell if it's because I'll have made it through high school or because the strange ideals we all have about the hottest months of the year. Yeah.. Not sure.

      Swimming, icecream, barefeet, chill tunes, sunshine,  new york.. Wait, new york? No? Not you?  It COULD fit in there.

 
 * It's ironic that even the things I create for summer are still inspired by men's outerwear.

Ahah. A few months ago I posted the following text on my Tumblr (I believe I've shared this with you before.. Uhh.) -
  

"Some days all I want is to re-blog everything on my (tumblr) feed. But then I look around and see how little original content there is on here and I think again (not to say I’ve never done it, but it is rare).

     It’s easy to acquire good taste, all it takes is culture (I’m not downing this, I love it too much. But there is quite an uneven population between being inspired and inspiring.. They should go hand in hand), to create beauty is the real feat."

After watching this video, I realized what it was that carries me through each project with equal dedication even though.. Lets be honest... It will probably not turn out like I want it to in my head. TASTE. It's what begins something and then (eventually.. After beginning again and again) brings about a piece of art you are proud of. 

I'm still in the middle of this process, if you must know. 

So go do A LOT of work. 

REMEMBER THIS?

      Remember this? Chanel's S/S 2014 collection makeup. Well, I love it and I never got to tell you. I'm in love with the contrast of the eye makeup and light colored clothes coming down the Chanel runway. I'm usually one for a natural look or something a little more subtle. But, surprisingly it worked so well and the colors where so precise.    
     
       What did you think? Where you shocked, bewildered, struck with starry eyes?  Do you think designers are sometimes stuck in their ways when it comes to their nude pallet on the catwalk? No? What was your ideal makeup look this season?

NOVEMBER LOOKBOOK: UPDATED

  An update to the November lookbook,  featuring the lovely new black leather midi ring.

INTRODUCING

     This is my first introduction of my Spring 2014 pieces, that is profoundly over-due. I have four great pieces already started, and can't wait to begin the rest. There are a few items I can't wait to get out there, having to do with my favorite shoes. Hint, hint.


I have some ambition to start posting an outfit here and there. You might be seeing a few throughout the week.  With a preview of some of the spring items, to be sure. There is already a dainty little necklace that I've been taking off only to go to bed.


It's now time to go knock out some serious cleaning while I still have time. It'll be the only way I stay sane until Saturday, if i do it.

ABOUT THAT MIDI RING

     I can't do anything but express how great this (extra long) weekend was, so many beautiful people to enjoy and look forward to encountering in the future. New and old acquaintances, all at once, I'm now unsure what to do with my self. 0 to 60 then back down suddenly is a wonderful and hard thing, that, in the end, is worth it.

Trying to get back into full swing now, working on the shop, trying (and failing) to figure out whats wrong with the playback in Logic, and settling my mind back into academics. I literally feel like I'm going to go insane.. I need to make a huge map for the rest of the school year (one that rolls up and down to hang on my wall. Kinda like one of those car window cover things? Just not so annoying.) - So many goals, hopefully all attainable if i can just screw my head on the right way and focus.

Midi Rings!!! It's all I can think of (as far as design goes) the last few days. I'm in love. So, to feed my obsession, I've crafted a few leather midi rings (you may have seen them in the first picture of the Fall/Winter lookbook), which I am proud to announce are now available in the shop! Oh goodness, they are my new favorite thing in my wardrobe. So simple, but seem to be really catching peoples eye.
